Wow. That’s all that’s coming to mind as I think back about this morning’s six meter band opening. Sixty-five (65) contacts, forty-eight (48) grids, and 18(ish) U.S. States from Minnesota and Nebraska to the west to Mississippi and Florida to the south represent what the band looked like from my perspective in Southern Maryland. All contacts were made using FT8 as I was working during the event so I couldn’t spend time searching for other stations using my preferred modes (CW and SSB).
As of now, I have received 28 grid confirmations via LoTW. These confirmations were enough to put me up to 118 confirmed grids and 138 worked grids on six meters.
